Zoommy App Review

Zoommy is a cross-platform (macOS, Windows, Linux) app to find free creative common zero stock images. Zoommy is designed by Artem Nosenko , developed by Dmitry Belyaew.

I have been testing out Zoommy this year, and wanted to give it a comprehensive review. I have been using it since version 2.2 and it's now at version 2.4. Zoommy is regularly updated, with big changes between v1.0 and v2.0.

I will be doing this review based on three criteria: Functionality, Content Quality, UI/UX

Functionally, Zoommy is a very simple app, with its main feature Image Search at the core of the functionality. Do a search, and Zoommy will find images from 40+ different source, all free to use. Once you have found an image you like, you can save it, or alternatively you can add it to a custom collection.
Zoommy is very smooth and performs great overall.

Zoommy has more than 35,000 photos licensed under Creative Commons Zero from 40 sources. Generally, I was very impressed with the quality and the range of images. All the sources are clearly labeled and browsable. In my 5 months or so using Zooommy I always found the right image using it.

Zoommy has a cute logo, that's easily recognizable in your dock. Once you open it up, it has a nice dark color scheme. The UX is very obvious and a pleasure to use. My only complaint is that it would be nice to flick through the images full screen with the arrow keys. I think this would be a simple good addition to the UX.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised by Zoommy. It great to be able to open an app, do a simple search and find a beautiful, usable stock image. Zoommy is a must have app for content creators, and a steal at only USD $3.99 $4.99
